Welcome to the Inland Empire Backcountry Horsemen’s website.  Our mission is to preserve and enhance the right to use horses and mules for recreation on public lands.  We are one of 33 chapters of the Backcountry Horsemen of Washington (BCHW) and are affiliated with the Backcountry Horsemen of America.

Membership in Backcountry Horsemen provides a library, Trail Guide, purchasing discounts and newsletters.

**NEW** POKER RIDE: Saturday May 8, 2010 at Fish Trap Lake
Pre-register by May 5th. Read more about the ride and print a registration form by clicking here!

Chapter activities include chapter trail rides, monthly meetings that include educational programs, seminars, clinics, Christmas party, a variety of potlucks and trail work parties.  .

There are also many opportunities to help accomplish our mission by participating on chapter committees as well as becoming involved in the public decision making process where it concerns the use of horses.

Our chapter has four primary goals:
1) Be a leader in the equestrian community where we take an active and positive role to preserve and enhance our rights to use horses for recreation. 2) Provide a social atmosphere where we may enjoy our horses and each other’s company. 3) Provide a valuable volunteer workforce that assists in the development and maintenance of trails and trailheads. 4) Provide meaningful education on equestrian issues to include, but not limited to, packing and our Leave No Trace (LNT) program.
